How to address the needs of year 7 pupils in the context of KS2 MFL and the new KS3 Programme of Study.
The variety of KS2 MFL experiences in terms of language, content and methodology means that teaching in year 7 now presents new challenges which cannot be overlooked if we wish to address the needs of all learners.
The European Day of Languages (EDL), a Council of Europe initiative, is held annually on the 26 September to celebrate language and cultural diversity. The Day was first celebrated in 2001, the European Year of Languages and involves more people every year.
This one-day course is intended for those teachers who are teaching, or preparing to teach languages at KS2 but wish to develop their understanding of the broader primary curriculum and primary strategy. It will also be suitable for secondary or peripatetic teachers who support language teaching in primary schools and primary links coordinators from secondary schools.
